Os on ssd and save games on hdd?

I tried to play sim city 4 on a ext hdd it worked' but it would not save the game on my ext hdd. It did not ask me where I want to save the game on, in the set up menu how do I chang it I will be getting a 1td int hdd.

Games are not like other applications, such as Photoshop, MS Office, etc. Normally they don't give you a lot of flexibility as to where they save their games to. For a variety of reasons, nowadays games will usually try to write to some location in your User folder. It could be somewhere within "My Documents", or "My Documents\My Games", "C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local", or some other user-specific location.

If you are using Steam to play games take a look at the program Steam Mover. (google search should do the trick)

It easily transfers games like Sim City 4 from your SSD to any other HDD so that those games to do not take up all that precious space when not being played.

It doesn't work so well on folders outside of Steam.
