I recently built my first computer and just did the intial boot up. I then started installing Windows XP and it got about half way done and my comp over heated and shut down. So I took the case cover off and saw that a wire had got stuck in the CPU fan (i know, i know, check these things) so I removed the wire and made sure it wouldn't happen again. But now, my comp keeps trying to load WinXP and it can't because it only got half of it installed. When I put the disc back in it doesn't read it. It just says "Error Loading Operating System." and doesn't move any further. How can I redo the WinXP installation? I couldn't find anything to like, uninstall it and reinstall... BTW, it's nothing to do with heating anymore the temp is at 37 or so.

Agreed, if you go into the cd first, you can restart the entire process, including a reformat of the hard drive. That should get you on the right track again.

Yeah, I think that fishmahn has got in nailed, just set the CD as your first boot source and that should fix the problem. I am assuming you know how to delete a partition? But if you don't just PM me and I can tell you how.

Wow, I went to do a little work, and now this post is completely irrelevant by the time I submit it.
