Hello all,
I am new to server motherboards and I have what is probably a dumb question about this motherboard.
http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X9DR3-LN4F_.cfm
This is about the only motherboard I can use since I want the E5-2650 v2 processors and I need it to be EEATX form factor (case limitation). I was going through my components and making sure they were compatible when I noticed this OS compatibility chart and for Windows 7 ultimate it says that the Windows 7 OS can only be installed "SATA (without RAID, AHCI mode)".
http://www.supermicro.com/support/resources/OS/C606.cfm
My intention was to plug two SSD's in RAID 1 into the board's SATA 6GB/s port and use that as my boot drive but it seems like I cannot do this. My question is basically, am I correct that I cannot use the boards built in ports with a RAID 1 boot array and if I cannot, is there any way around this?
Thanks!
