I have a Win 10 Home computer which will not boot to Windows. After seeing the small Windows logo and the 'swirly thing', the screen goes blank. If I reinstall Win 10 Home from a USB drive, will all my apps also have to be reinstalled?

If you boot from USB, you will have the option to repair current installation, and this is your first try. But - if you have important data on that computer, get an external drive, make a full image backup, and only aftr that proceed with recovery. There're way too many forum posts titled "Though I will just install, but did a format instrad"

To add to above post about doing an image, Macrium Reflect, install it on another system, from that setup use the option to create a USB bootable flash drive. Make an image of your current drive to an image file on the USB external. You also should make a Linux Live disk, boot off that and copy your files to an external backup drive to keep your files safe.

Then you can play with the failed booting issue.

From your username, are you from Salisbury in MA?
