OS Selection Help!

So, these are my specs:
CPU:Intel Core 2 DUO E4600 2.4GHZ
RAM:1 GB (DDR2)
integrated graphics(384mb)
What OS should i install on it? i am thinking between Windows xp,Vista and 7.The ram is the limit here.Both Vista and XP are unsupported by microsoft but windows 7 may lag with 1 gb ram.I need help please,

with 1gb of ram xp

vista and 7 may run with 1gb of ram but wont run very well i wouldnt think

really you need to get some more ram

Yeah i know but spending money for a slow overpriced DDR2 1gb ram stick isnt the best option.....

It's an XP era machine, so I'd run XP on it. Vista runs badly on 1GB, and I'm not sure win7 will have drivers for that board. In the end though I don't think it really matters. It's too slow/old to be used as a gaming system so as a general use web surfing machine it won't matter.

any OS newer than XP will run slowly with 1GB of ram. go with windows XP
