OS won't boot after migration to SSD

I got my SSD in the mail today, and tried to install it at lunch. I'd already read a tutorial explaining how to migrate the OS to my new drive, so I used Paragon as it was suggested and followed the instructions.

My old SSD was an outdated Intel 40GB and my new one is a Patriot 240GB.
In Paragon I chose to migrate the OS (Windows 7) to my new drive, and when it was finished I checked disk manager and it showed it as a primary drive with exactly the same amount of space used as my current boot drive (so of course I assumed it was fine).

Upon shutting down and replacing my old drive with my new one, the OS wouldn't boot. I changed the boot options to give my Patriot drive priority (and the BIOS did recognize it), but it still said the device wasn't bootable.

I'm not too worried because I haven't wiped my original drive, but this OS migration thing is something I'm not experienced with.

How can I make this work? The only reason I don't want to do a clean install is because last time I reinstalled on my boot drive it broke all the programs on my storage drive. I'd happily do a clean install again if the programs would remain intact, but as far as I know it's best to copy the original OS to avoid issues.

Any help would be appreciated!

if your computer has a usb and/or cd-dvd drive I recommend burning this boot repair program on the usb or cd and booting from usb.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/boot-repair-cd/

once the screen initializes the instructions are straightforward (for the most part you just have to keep clicking enter)
