Other PC Operating System ( OS ) avail on a disc ?

Is there another PC Operating System avail on a disc ? Besides windows 7 or 8 (Eg Microsoft)
I have heard of Ubunta but do not know if they have a disc.

Your only alternative is linux (Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat etc..) however, they do not come in a disc.. you have to download the OS, burn it to a disc, and then you got the disc for yourself..

Windows come in a disc, Mac OS is preinstalled in most of the apple computers..

So, there we go..

What is the download procedure (proper formatting) prior to install of the new OS, If i burn to disc. is there a certain order to follow. Thank you for your help

If you are writing over the existing OS, and realize all data will be lost, it is relatively easy to set the BIOS to boot from the newly burned CD with your chosen Linux iso, then choose the desired disk for it to overwrite for an install, selecting 'reclaim space' (or similar), depending on your distribution, as the menu varies from distro to distro.

(Numerous videos on youtube showing install of nearly every conceivable Linux distro)

Note that unless you are somewhat skilled (WINE), your existing Windows applications and most games will not work in a Linux environment.
