Other ways to plug in hdd

If you use a laptop for repairs how do you plug in new hdds and format them, is there other ways besides access to the mobo and a sata cable? Like a usb to sata caBle

If you do it very often, then a docking station like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817422025 might be a good solution.

ideally you would want an esata or USB3.0 dock if your laptop can support it
