Even though Hurd was one of the most disliked CEO's among top tech companies, he still is likely to get a 40 million dollar severance package from HP. Reading through an Associated Press article, apparently conditions on the package involve a certain "Confidentiality agreement that restricts what he can tell a future employer about internal HP dealings".

What could this guy be worth to Oracle?

[citation][nom]theoutbound[/nom]I wonder how far this will drop Larry Ellison's approval rating among his employees?[/citation]

Fortunately for people as high up as him, nobody else's opinion (off the board of Directors anyway) matters. He still collects his ridiculously over sized salary for spending most days playing golf, and on the days he actually works, he fires people. I actually say some douche on MSNBC business channel talking about how America should give an award to the CEO who manages the largest salary during the year. As if making stupidly large sums of money isn't rewarding enough. This during a discussion of how the CEOs that fire the most people also seem to be paid the highest; on that list Mark Turd was #3 IIRC. Mark was getting somethink like 24,000,000 a year to run HP. That is equivalent to roughly 500 people @ $48,000/yr which is a good salary. ***WTF*** DOES HE DO THAT IS WORTH THE WORK 500 OTHER HARD WORKING PEOPLE CAN DO FOR THE SAME MONEY? This isn't capitalism, it's plutarchy. Feels like freaking 1910 around here. All we need are cops beating labors on strike, and we'll be all set.

He's an expert a shaking down employees and short term thinking. He believes sales people are the biggest asset to a technology company. Questionable ethics and lack of imaginationare also part of his cache.

This is just completly unbelievable! This guy doesnt deserve a job anywhere near this high up, put him in the mail room. I just dont understand why him and not the millions of other hard workers that would be of better moral standards and 100% more deserving.

Oracle what are you doing promoting this kind of behavior? Sure its OK to alter expense reports
to cover up a relationship son.

[citation][nom]queequeeg[/nom]Disgusting. Maybe Oracle can hire Tiger Woods to get their new message out.[/citation]
The differance is that most people couldn't care less if Tiger Woods plays 18 holes off the course, he is still the best golfer in the world.

Snipe him out. Punisher stylie. The wicked will get theirs. What is worse is that these people see only what is in front of them, nothing around them matters. I'm not for a hippy, socialist mentality but when a person does wrong at one job and then gets basically a lateral promotion from one president spot to another, there has to be some type of standards forbidding such personnel moves. Or my original position which is vigilante justice.
