Issue

First of all keep in mind I haven't changed anything in my computer in years. I keep it clean on the inside, but as far as a hardware change there's been nothing. Recently I've been going about my business playing WoW and EU4, or just watching something on Netflix, but all of the sudden it's started acting very strange, and I cant figure it out. So I'll be playing a game for say about an hour and then it'll crash giving an error that says the computer is out of memory. It's just WoW so I know its not using that damn much, especially with 16GB. After it crashes I cant open anything else. Not even a browser page, but it doesn't freeze. I can still do things. Sometimes too I'll try to open a app and it'll open a window and then immediately close. A good restart fixes all of this and I'm dandy for about another hour. Also I'm not sure if I just never noticed before, but "Nvidia Container" seems to be using a TON of memory (4Gb on idle). That seems like a lot to me considering most people only have like 8GB.

Things I've checked/tried

  • Reseated GPU and RAM sticks
  • Did a windows extended RAM check with 0 results from that
  • Virus/Malware scan (I don't download anything anyway)
  • Uninstalled GeForce Expierence
  • Checked/Updated drivers
  • GPU not overheating
  • Ran with only 1 program up (Different programs)
  • Checked system info to confirm it's registering all RAM (it is)
  • Disconnected 2nd monitor
  • Prayed to the internet Gods!

...pls halp

Solution
I don't know exactly what Nvidia Container is, but you might want to kill it in task manager and see if that fixes the problem. Unless Nvidia Container is needed for the graphics to work.
When this happens, are you able to open task manager? If the Nvidia task is the only thing that looks wonky, try either reinstalling geforce Experience or simply removing it altogether. There's many reports of it using high CPU but not many complaints about ram usage.

I can open it but the most I've seen my total mem usage at is like 56%. I did end up reinstalling it and turning off all the junk in the trunk. I don't really think it GeForce Experience. I haven't read anything about anyone else having memory issues with it. I think a piece of hardware might be dying. I got a new GPU coming in mail from my brother. Don't have any other parts to swap out and check though.

Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: NVDisplay.Container.exe (1860) consumed 19118202880 bytes, Wow.exe (9860) consumed 4484571136 bytes, and dwm.exe (1080) consumed 167596032 bytes.

Ok yea its something with Nvidia container
