I can not find a straight answer or receive a straight answer on the Windows 7 USB 3.0 external drive conundrum.
I want to use a single enclosure using a 6 TB drive to operate a personal family cloud. I am currently using a 3 TB drive which is filling up fast. I backup the first 3TB drive to another 3 TB, using an Anker 3.0 self powered HUB, at the same time with no problems
I am using a 7 year old ACER 3470G with AMD quad core 3620 with 16 gigs of ram.
I read and receive information recounting the claim that Windows 7 can not handle more 2 TB but my usage system proves that incorrect.
Sometimes when I am backing up my system, I ran an extra 2 TB external drive on the Anker. I download Public Domain information from Archive.org and there is no problem.
Where is all the current updated information pertaining to Windows 7 limit using external drives on a USB 3.0 port so I can spend the funds to purchase 2 separate enclosures each using a 6 TB drive to keep up with the demand of the family personal cloud??
Does anyone know the real facts???
