I installed Win2K Pro. Outlook Express was crashing. I upgraded to IE 6 hoping it was just a corrupted file. Didn't help. Installed all the Updates except DirectX 8, and it still doesn't work. I just checked Dr. Watson, and it said there were access violations.

I suggest that you look in the Event Viewer, and if you see an Error message with an Event ID number, go search the ID number in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

Nothing in the Event Viewer, only in Dr. Watson

What version of the OS are you running? Did you install Service Pack 2 before upgrading the browser and email client?

By the way ... you definitely should install DirectX 8.0a.

Are you on a Network or stand-alone?

Did you backed up your E-mails/contacts on a cd and you are trying to import them? If so, check your .pst(or anything else) file to make sure it is not Read-only. I't happened to me.
