Question Outlook for Mac, gmail is getting a bunch of blank emails in the trash

I have outlook for mac with my gmail synced up to it. I recently had to troubleshoot it not syncing but I managed to solve that a bit ago. Now, I am noticing a ton of blank emails going straight to the deleted messages in my gmail in outlook for mac. This does not happen on any of my other devices where it is set up like this. Any ideas?

Are you able to identify the source/sender of those emails?

Can you block them or otherwise redirect the blank emails via some rule: E.g., no subject.?

So it was a cache issue with sync settings. Made a change in how far it downloads old emails and it seems to have stopped for now.
