Output audio to HDMI AND USB?

Hi, I'm trying to output my system audio (eg: game, music, and skype) through both HDMI, so it can be recorded with my Elgato GameCap, AND through my USB logitech headset.

It seems like such a simple thing to be able to do (although it's probably not), but I can't seem to be able to get it to work.
I've tried using virtual audio cable, along with two instances of audio repeater, and all that did was cause a loud echoing noise through HDMI, and nothing through USB.
I have no stereo mix, either. The drivers for my motherboard's sound chipset are from 2012, and have caused more problems than they were worth before. The MS drivers work fine enough.

Is there any possible way to do this?

Windows by default will only output a single audio source at a time. When the headset is enabled, HDMI audio would be disabled.

I believe ronintexas is right. You should get a T Amp or a DAC so you can have multiple input sources.
