Hello All,
I posted this question recently but then i answered it as resolved by accident.

This was the Issue
I have had my PC for about 10mths and suddenly it froze, with the screen still on but the keyboard and mouse not working. I had to do a hard shutdown to turn off and then rebooted. Computer loads up but again no mouse or keyboard working. I have tried plugging other things into USB but none are working. The lights on the keyboard and the mouse flash and come on as soon as the power is switched on but go off shortly after. I cant go into Bios settings or anything because of the lack of keyboard. Any Ideas? Its a GA-f2a85xm-d3h

Somebody kindly suggested removing the CMOS battery which worked and the PC rebooted into the Bios screen and the keyboard and mouse worked. However when i clicked on save and reboot we have the same problem with the outputs not working again? Any ideas where i am going wrong?

Best Wishes

Steve

Did you make any changes to the BIOS settings after you got it working by pulling the battery? If so, try making them one at a time and rebooting to see if any of them caused the problem. I'd suggest unplugging your drive(s) so it can't load anything else until you've finished BIOS configuration. Once you've gotten BIOS set up and still have the keyboard and mouse working, try booting something else (like your Windows install disk or a Linux live CD) to see if they keep working. If so, it's a problem with your OS install (corrupted USB driver?); if not, it's the motherboard.
