Hi there,

I need some advice, I've currently updated my monitor to a 4k TV (Bush 50") and now need to connect my Quadro 4000 to it over HDMI. Before that I was using Displayport to VGA and DVI to VGA adaptors, and they seemed to be working fine up to resolutions of 1920x1080.

I've currently been using a Displayport to HDMI cable (http://goo.gl/IEOR8e) and a VGA to HDMI cable which both return no signal on my new monitor from the Quadro 4000 (the DP to HDMI is working on another laptop with the same screen) would I need to get an active DP to HDMI converter in order to get the signal, or is there something else I should be testing, I have all the drivers up to date and I'm using Windows 10, and I've tested in on HDMI 1.4 and 2.0 inputs, as well as a HD Ready TV which has a resolution of 1368x768.

Thanks!
Gary

Well, I'm not 100% sure what type of adapter you have to go from DP to HDMI, but if it is a passive adapter, it would require that your displayport be a displayport++ compatible port which allows DVI and HDMI signals to be passed through. If it's NOT DP++ compatible, then you would definitely need an active adapter to go from Displayport to HDMI.

I'm not exactly sure what the issue is but I believe cards emit signals with timings that are slightly different than other TV signal devices. As such, unless the TV has a computer-ready HDMI port, you won't have much luck.

You can Google around for this and see if you can find more specific information on the subject. If you do, please update this topic?
