Outside wireless signals at a good range

How hard would it be to extend/ have a source of wireless internet that would extend fer outside? if i had my normal wireless router inside that didnt reach the outside very well what would be the requirements to have the signal goto places such as sitting on the portch or in a hammock outside, probably within 500-600 feet of the house itself. any comments will help.

You can buy an outdoor access point which you connect to your main internet source via ethernet cable. Something like this -- http://www.engeniustech.com/products/outdoor-access-points-client-bridges/ap-bridges-outdoor/ens202ext.html

I don't know if you will get 500 ft, but you should get a couple hundred. To get 360 coverage, you would have to mount it above the roof of the house or get two an mount on opposite sides of the building.
