Hey guys I will be trying to overclock a old xp computer of mine. The specs of cpu-z say that the cpu is a AMD Athlon XP. My motherboard is a A7N8X-E. The bois also is dead on the computer (not too sure why) so I am thinking to use a overclocking software any idea?

Solution
If the bios was dead it wouldnt run. I have experience clocking these oards and still have a runner.
You can only get benefits overclocking 333 front side bus chips like the 2500+ if you are using 400 meg ram.
Just creep the front side bus up a bit until it becomes ustable then go back a bit.
You should try pressing delete as it boots to get into bios. Whatever you do, you wont notice much difference.

there are 3 prongs near the battery with a connector on two of them. Take the battery out, move the connector to the other pin then put it back where it was and put the battery back in. Look at it online before you try it. Say pins 1 and two are connected, connect pins 2 and three for 3 seconds then put it back to 1 and 2. Then put the battery back in. This process shorts the battery so take it out , it can get hot and damaged otherwise.
