So I cant seem to get my 9950 be past 3.1, i know there are tons of other posts like this but they don't really help me. I can max out the voltage and still stay below 35C because the cpu is the only thing i have on the loop with a Feser Quad radiator. I'm not so good with overclocking and the only things i really touch are the voltage and multiplyer. I have a DFI M2RSH, irt's an insane OC board but i can seem to get it to work with whatever i try. Has anyone ever gotter this processor past 3.2 while running it STABLE? I have but in about 2 min the comp goes into an endless restart. Does anyone have instructions to do this unsing AMD overdrive or the BIOS? Thanks for your help! BTW I have minimal knowledge on overclocking.

at 3ghz it should be set to about 1.3v download AMD overdrive or look for it in the BIOS it could be under PWM features. Don't know your bios, so the best i can tell you is to look for it. It could be called Vcore. Depending on what model you have the 125w or 140w if 125w take my advice, i have no experience with the 140w. Scratch 1.3 v set it a bit higher than 1.3 , and depending on what cooler you have i would keep it the way it is if you are not experiecing any problems. You said youre running at 3000mhz but don't know how to change the voltage, how did you get it to run at 3ghz if you didn't change the voltage?

i jsut set the multiplyer to 15...and vola...and i cant change the voltage because its greyed out and says "auto" also im sitting at about 35C with it at this ...i have a program that tells me the sensor reading

This in the BIOS? Did you build or was it prebuilt? WHat motherboard do you have? Try to find a BIOS that you can flash so you can change it. It shouldnt be locked like that. I just recomend using AMD overdrive and see if that works if you think getting a new BIOS or unlocking it won't work. It might change the voltage according to what it needs, since its on auto, thats a very nice feature and thats what it sound like because there almost no way that your running at 3GHZ without changing the voltage.

yes this was in the BIOS...i built it and the motherboard im using currently is
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3975886&CatId=2320 (MSI K9N2G Neo-FD Motherboard - GeForce 8200, Socket AM2+/AM2, ATX, Audio, Video, DVI, VGA, PCI Express 2.0, Hybrid SLI, USB 2.0, SATA, RAID). and yah ive been running it like this for about 3 hours and no problems...Also my CPU is sitting at about 40C right now with World of warcraft running in the background...i also have 6 fans in my case so i think this is a major reason why its staying at a decent temp...this is my case http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=3911521&sku=A406-1101&srkey=NZXT%20Tempest%20ATX%20Mid-Tower%20Case

Don't think you need to change the voltage if everything is running that well, and are you on a stock cooler? cause those r good temps. I would say try to go a bit higher to like 3.1 then see if it still runs so well, because then you may need to increase the voltage.

well that was when i have the thermalright now i have water cooling. The thermalright idles me at around 40c and wen up to max 50 when loading now. I idle at 27C and max at 29c with 100% cores. My case is an antec 1200.

well thats good your achieving good temps now...jw do you no if overclocking would cause any problems with games crashing...i play WoW and ive been getting some errors from it lately...
