Alright so first off I want to apologize for asking this. I am relatively new at PC mechanics, and I couldn't find this anywhere. I'm sure this question is a no brainer.

Specs:
Power Cooler AMD RADEON HD 7870
AMD FX 6300 3.5 ghz

Ok so my question involves overclocking the GPU, not the CPU.
Do i need an extra fan or better cooling system, to overclock the gpu a little bit. I just wanna squeeze a little bit of fps out of the card. Do i need to a better fan. I have a big fan on my case and the fan on my gpu, and the fan on my cpu. All of them came stock. And is there any negative effects of overclocking a little bit. Like anything longterm?

THanks

It helps if you have a non reference cooling system, But even reference design coolers can be overclocked alittle.
It may shorten the lifespan of your card alittle in some cases.
So to sum up, yes you can overclock, just be careful and pay attention to your temps.
