thanks

You can get SetFSB here. If you don't see your motherboard listed then try another board that has the same chipset as yours.

You can find a couple programs at http://www.crashman.dns2go.com

i have a dell dimension 4100 with a pentium 1 gigahurt processor. i don't have any of my paper work with me right now do you know what motherboard i may have or where i could find this out.

I have setfsb for my mb but it says I need to copy giveio.sys into it's folder when I try to run it. I searched for the file on my computer with no luck, so I searched on google and I got alot of hits regarding peripheral sound devices. Do I need this file and if so where do I get it.

Oh, most likely a slightly modified Intel motherboard then. Intel made Dell's boards on the same PCB, the standard board was wired for standard ATX power/panel connectors, while the Dell was wired for the Dell power supply/panel header, with both sets of solder points on both boards.

I don't know. I didn't have any problems and my system doesn't have a file called giveio.sys.

Which file did you download and which motherboard do you have? Could giveio.sys be one of the files in the scriptxxx.lzh file?

I got the file from another fellow on the net however I put it where it wants it and same thing. I don't know what else to do, I'm sure it's the right ver. for my clock generator. On another note,I'm stable at 149/37 don't know if I should try the next leap until I get my modem out, ethernet card in. PCMark2k1 says 5050, 3282, 870. Not bad from 4554, 3030, 870 stock.

Maybe the version I gave you was only for Win2k (what I was using)... maybe I can find out which app installed that file/is using that file.

It's OK, I don't think I'm going to use software now anyway. It's a pain in the but and I'm runnin @ 150FSB now through the bios, so it's all good :).
