Over Current Detected System Will Shut Down In 15 Seconds, HELP!!

okay so here is the thing last night me and my brother were play games pretty late, then my sister runs in trying to tell me something and knocks my drink of Pepsi down into my computer, I cleaned up most of it and there restarted it to make sure and it worked fine.

but now the next day when I try and turn it on I keep getting the message over current detected system will shut down in 15 seconds

I have tried unplugging the front ports from the motherboard but nothing really worked.

All help is appreciated, I hope i can get this fixed soon.

Where all did the soda get to? Motherboard, GPU, RAM, ect? May need to remove and clean parts. Once soda dries, it gets sticky, and this won't be good for electronics.

yes thanks for the advice ill try that now, but I'm confused as to why my computer was working the night that it happened and then the next day it doesn't???

It could be that it seeped further into your PC as time went on, plus becoming sticky. Soda that's dried on solder joints is a bad thing. I'd check your parts over carefully and clean before powering on again. Just some rubbing alcohol and Q-tips should suffice, but again you won't know for sure until you check.

Thats what i have been doing it only went on the mobo and the case ive cleaned it all up but it continues to say current setected shutting down, and i dont understand because it went nowhere near any usb ports

Maybe try unplugging the main 24-pin and 8-pin motherboard connectors and re inserting them.

Tried unplugging everyting didnt work not sure why i have notging plugged in an i stll get the error message

Does your PC actually shut itself off after the 15 second warning? If not, you may be able to check the voltages in the BIOS. Could be a false warning. Try a CMOS clear by removing battery.

I have taken the battery out, how long do i leave it out?

Okay.... so ive found out that it stays on when dissconnected from my monitor could the be a possible problem, ty for your help

Did you reinstall the CMOS battery? Are you saying it shuts down when connected to your monitor, but stays on when with no video cable going to your pc?
