OK. I just got done on my first pc and everything is working, however my pc is just getting too hot. My processor is getting to just about 245 degrees f. and then it quits. I was wondering what i could do, and if getting a new heat sink is what i need.

At 118C, hopefully it did shut down lol.

No PC with ANY heat sink installed running stock settings should *ever* get this hot.

So the odds the heat sink you installed (You *do* have a heat sink installed, eh?)isn't installed correctly. So re-install it. Do not run this PC again until you are certain you have changed *something* positive about the heat sink/fan.

Anyhow, please list your cpu, cooler, mobo, psu, memory, and case make and model if you want help.

And please use Centigrade to report temps. Even us troglodytes buried in Fahrenheit use Celsius in this application.
