Question over heating ?

i have asus dual fans 1070 i bought it used but still have warranty for 1.5 year
the issue is the card get 81c under load
and i think its really high temp or its normal ?
i contacted the warranty company and it seems like if i tried to apply the thermal paste it will be out of warranty i need to give them the card so they test it
would the thermal paste make some difference ?
or should i ignore all these hassle and buy a liquid cooler ?

81C is warm but nowhere close to damaging the card. I doubt it's damaged, just thoroughly clean it free of dust then create a custom fan curve via MSI Afterburner or ASUS GPU Tweak II and see if it helps. Thermal throttling would probably come up around 85C. As for redoing the thermal paste it's a good idea but not worth voiding the warranty.

agree to above but also make sure if in a closed case that you have good airflow. Try increasing the fan speed manually 60-80% see if temps drop.

well i've applied thermal paste and there was tons of dust the temp went down to 78c but it still reached 80c but it went down to 79-78c that was the new average
i didn't observe alot when i normally set my fan to 70% but i noticed that the temps went lower
i am really thinking about buying a liquid cooler
what do u think about that would it worth the shot ?
or should i sell the card and with the cooler money i buy a brand new 1660 ti ?

If you buy a 1660 ti your pretty much doing a sidegrade so honestly, it's a waste of money. Create a custom fan curve via MSI Afterburner and have it set up so that by 80C it's running at 100%, do 80% @70C and so on.
