Overall, how is this 1070 build?

Here is my current build in progress. Let me know what your thoughts are on overclocking the i5 6600K with Gigabyte Z170 and GTX 1070. I want to stay under $1500 for all components.

Also will there be any tearing if I use the Asus 1440p 60Hz monitor?

Great build. I don't have any complaints about it. 1070 and i5 will be perfect for 1440p gaming. No, tearing is different on a game by game basis but most games resolve it by using vsync.

Okay so will I be limiting my gpu to 60fps by going with 60Hz instead of 144Hz refresh rate?

yup, that's what 60 hz means. it's limited to 60 fps. the game will produce more frames for sure, but you'll only get to see 60 fps with it.
