Overall, is MSI 970 Gaming good?

Hello.

I'm going to lean to an FX-8350 because I have a lot of things being done simultaneously. Really though, I have like a million apps running at the same time. Pardon my hyperbole please. Is the MSI 970 Gaming motherboard good overall? Like features, speed, reliability and quality and others? This is well reviewed by people.

For motherboards, I can see some people's answers to posts saying "Blah just go to Asus instead blah". Are MSI boards actually good? I love their GPU's and I see their laptops well reviewed, but for motherboards, is it really good? MSI 970 Gaming is affordable for me and I really want to pick it up. Is it also good for slight overclocking?

Also, I'm pairing this up with the R9 270X. This will most likely be a workstation and a gaming rig combined.

I had this board when I ran AMD, and for the price its quite a nice board. lot's of features and I was able to get my 8320 to 4.0ghz no problem. Though I had 2 USB ports on the rear fail, I had no other issues. For the price It's an excellent board.

Wait... What do you mean by "i had 2 USB ports on the rear fail"? Sounds to me that this board isn't good in terms of quality.

I mean that's my experience with the board. It's not like you're guaranteed to have them fail, It's a decent board.

anyway, this msi 970 gaming should be the best 970 motherboard! (or if you want spend more money upgrade to 990)
