overclock AMD Duron

Hej!
I plan to buy ASUS A7V mainboard and AMD Duron 700 or 750. I would like to know whether I can overclock Duron 700 or 750 or 1000. I am new to overclocking and this forum, hopefully I can be told how to do.

yup no problem
u'll need to make sure that ur L1 bridges in ur duron is closed, and i hope u didn't buy the new durons... those dun have the golden bridges as we speak.
(they have instructions on how to close the L1 brdges here)

then make sure u have a A7V with the dip switches
if u have, then just flick the switches, make sure to set ur voteages a little bit higher! (refer to instruction for details on voltage setting)

It depends, some will some won't. It's pot luck. I understand most will overlock to 900 Mhz. I didn't want to chance it to luck and bought mine at OCZ.SAFESHOPPER.COM. This 600 Mhz Duron has been tested and guaranteed to run at 1000 Mhz (with proper cooling). Mine exceeded 50 degrees C so I'm running at only 900 Mhz until I resolve cooling problems. I understand that I have to remove the thermal tape from my Monster II cooler (also from OCZ) and replace it with thermal paste and I will be good as gold.
