I have had this computer for over two years now and I would like to get an overclock of an FX-8320e to 4.0 ghz.

My specs are:
AMD FX-8320e
MSI 970 gaming motherboard
Corsair CX 750 PSU
2x GB of Kingston FuryX 4GB Ram
XFX 285DD GPU with 2GB memory

I want to get a stable 4ghz overclock.
I want to be able to play Battlefield 5 without having to play in a windowed frame, kinda ruins the immersion. I am looking to upgrade gpu to a 1050ti 4gb.
Can I overclock safely with this rig?

Solution
4.00 ghz is ok. Thats your cpu's boost clock. perfectly safe. 63 C is perfectly safe temp too. 1.275v is the start voltage for vishera cpus. Keep in mind that with more volts comes more heat. Have some better cooling ready if you want to push it above its boost clock. I had my old fx 6300 at 4.1 and 4.2 with water.

So I overclocked at the 4.0ghz and my temp is 46C idle and 63C while playing Battlefield V for 25 minutes. I set the volts to 1.27V for now. A youtuber had a 4.2ghz clock with 1.275V set so I feel this is fine. Core temp is set to auto shut down at 80C. I feel like this is ok for now. If anyone would like to weigh in and give their thoughts, this would be helpful.

Thanks, I did an intel burn test at 10 passes and it passed that no problem. The max temp at each pass was 74C. I currently have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo cooler on it now.

If you go to the msi website you can find software to tune your cpu and motherboard voltages that are specifically for you mobo model. I wouldn't recommend using a intel test to oc a amd chip. Every board comes with utilities for free.
