Overclock athlon 64 x2 3800

yes i'm new to overclocking and would like to try to overclock my 64 x2 3800 from 2.0 to 2.4 but don't exactly know what to change in bios. here are my system specs

athlon 64 x2 3800 2.0ghz
biostar geforce 6100
2gb kingston kvr400
evga gts 250 1gb

please in detail would someone tell me how to do this if possible thank you very much.

The easiest way to OC a CPU is by raising your FSB in the bios. be sure to lock your ram or lower the clock - 333. If i remember right the 3800 x2 has a 10x multi. Therefore raising your FSB to 240 would result in a 2400MHZ clock. Be sure to raise your FSB in small increments (I usually use 5 MHz). You should also lock your PCI E to 100MHZ, as you increase your FSB most other settings will increase as well. Just keep in mind that not all CPU/MOBO can overclock well or at all. Be sure to run some kind of benchmark to ensure that your system is stable, and keep an eye on your temps.

Also, set your HTT speed down to 600MHz or 800MHz to increase stability. I flashed my BIOS in Windows on my old board and couldn't raise the HTT above 1000MHz. Before the flash I could run 1200MHz without a problem. I miss that old CPU, but when I use it occasionally I remember why I have an overclocked i7.
