Hi Everyone. I believe this is my first post here. :) YAAAAY.
My name is Steve. I live in SE London in the UK and love old pre 1990 computers esp 8 bitters but also AMIGAs, am a member of the Vintage computer forum, love microcontrollers and am an audio electronics nut. I love hard sci fi, dystopian and speculative fiction and horror. I thought Blade Runner was OK but not what I was expecting.
My question is about overclocking on purpose. Here in the UK today is Guy Fawkes night.
I have an old Toshiba Satellite laptop with an Intel Celeron (shitteron) 900 processor. I would like to know if there is any way I can overclock this mother so it catches fire. I want to video it as part of a destruction video I want to make of destroying this laptop as I fucking hate it. I found it with another old ACER laptop in the bin cupboard of my partners' block of flats...
Is it possible to blow this mother up with some pretty flame effects or am I living in a dreamworld.
Thanks,
Steve.S

Solution
I see what you are asking, but NO, there is no way to do that. Most laptops cannot overclock at all, simply the BIOS doesn't have the needed settings to do that. Even if you could overclock it, it would never catch fire, as it would just shut down due to thermal protection when it gets too warm.

Solution
Hi Kasper and thanks for the solution. Well Dayum!! :/
I guess the bonfire is out.
I'll just have to smash the Granny out of it and video that instead!! 😉
Cheers and all the best,

Ooooh LOVELY!!!!. It had so to be done today so I'll use the USB killer on the other laptop (I have 2 and the other has an 80GB HDD, 1GB of memory, a slower Celeron and runs VISTA so maybe its more deserving of the flame. 😉 😉 😉
