overclock check

hey, I've just done my very first overclock on a new system I built myself. Just hoping someone can check my numbers to make sure I've done everything ok!

I've got an Asus Maximus Formula mb with an Intel E8400 cpu.

I've increased the FSB from 333 to 445 giving me a nice 4.005 Ghz

low usage temps are about 34 35 degrees, and after running prime95 for 30mins, are at about 60, 61.

last time I ran prime95 one of the threads stopped after 30mins

I haven't increased the voltage because its at 1.4v atm

are these numbers ok? should I increase the voltage or one more step, or could increasing my chipset's voltage help? (its on auto atm)

Think I have my memory at 1.9v but don't know if I even need it that high for the system to be stable.

any comments will be very helpful

Yeah, your system isn't stable. If prime95 stopped that is not good. As long as your temps stay lower than upper 60's to lower 70's you should be ok to increase the voltage.

Your mem voltage is kind of low. I don't know what kind it is but most manufacturers specify 2.0v-2.1v for stock clocks. As long as you don't go as high as 2.3v you shouldn't risk permanent damage.

So should I increase the memory voltage and see if it can stabilise my system, or just but it up anyway, also increasing the core voltage?

how about other voltages, like the northbridge. problem is I don't know the current voltage as its just set on auto.

if you want to find out whats causing the errors to show up, use the small ffts test to test the cpu, and use the blend test to test the ram...therefore you'll find out which component you'll have to tinker with...

i can run the blend test for hours with no errors, but the small ffts test only 30mins or so before an error.
I've increased the voltage, but its now set at 1.425 in bios and still making those errors.
Is it safe to increase more? temps still maximum of 62
thing is cpu-z tells me the core voltage is 1.360v
can someone tell me whats safe to go up to
and would increasing my nb voltage help?

You can try upping voltages if you want, just make sure to watch the temps. Chances are you just went past your max stable OC. If upping the voltage doesn't get your system stable you will need to back down to whatever your last stable OC was.
