Hello,

I already overclocked my CPU which is i5 4690k. OCed to 4.4ghz of 1.271v. While playing game I tried open my CPU-z while my game is running and I only see 3.8ghz so it's like there is a problem which is I don't know. I already search this on the other thread but can't find it seems like this issue is not quite common.

Couple of different ways to overclock. Changing the boost multiplier is one of them. You can also set a fixed frequency.

When using the modified multiplier, if you want to see your CPU running at full speed on the desktop, you will have to go to power options and set the computer to maximum performance mode. Otherwise it will throttle back down. If you run a benchmark or something while you have CPU-Z open it should still go up to what you set it to.

Does what work fine?
At 44 multiplier it will be 4.4GHz, and that will be fine if that's what it was before.
Run stress tests like Prime 95 for an hour or more to check stability.

Did you verify that your multiplier was at 44 in BIOS?

So strange! The thing is it was already OCed before and checking CPU-Z before it was fine but In few days I checked again and it came out like this I don't know if I did something wrong or what. I'm gonna try this tomorrow set the multiplier higher. If not I let you know.

Do you have EIST (Speedstepping) enabled? What power mode is windows set to? Balanced or Performance?
