Overclock e8500 on 1333FSB mobo

I plan to overclock my e8500 on gigabyte ga-73vm-s2. I can overclock my cpu only by increasing FSB. Lets say from 333 to 370mhz. That would bring me 370x9.5(multiplier) ~3.5ghz. But it results as 1480mhz rated FSB and my mobo support only 1333mhz. Will I fry my mobo or it is possible to overclock motherboard a bit? Is there a software to test mobo after overclocking?

I have 2x(2gb) pc2-6400 RAMs

I wouldn't worry about the FSB limit on the mobo. If the mobo allows you to set it, go for it. I ran my E8400 @ 400MHz/1600MHz FSB to get 3.6GHz.

Worst that can happen is you fry a CPU+mobo+RAM that could/should be replaced by something modern for $130 that's much faster.

I did not know that those E7xx cpu has a higher multiplier. This could be a good solution. But if I have to change cpu, maybe better go for some xeon 4 core cpu and overclock that?

The overclocked 2 cores will draw about 90W, The 4 cores start at 95W and the faster xeons 120W. Overclocking those will stress the MB VRM.
The E5450 is an 80W Xeon, and there are 65W Quads Q9550S, and Q9505S that will give some thermal headroom. Not all chipsets support the Xeon swap.
There are lots of options and you will learn something from all of them.
