Hey guys I need a little help, hopefully. I am having trouble on over locking my older model 2012 Alienware m17x r3. Here is the detail of my laptop: i7 intel 2720qm 2.2ghz turbo boost 3.3hgz; AMD Radeon 6900hd + intel HD 3000. I have no experience in overclocking However I did read the pros and cons for it. With that in mind I attempted to overclock my laptop by accessing bios and increasing the frequency under advance option-> overclock. It followed by increments of 10khz. Once setting a number I click save and restart my comp, I would quickly access back into my bios to check the result but it shows me the default frequency (99.80) like nothing has change. I also want to tell you guys that I have the laptop connected to the adaptor because my battery has gone bad and I removed it, could that be the problem? Also I don't think my bios is up to date could that be a potential problem. Any answer would be helpful thank you for reading guys.
