Question Overclock Settings Do Not Save on Shutdown but work on Restart?

My settings work, I leave my bios and go to check with CPU-Z and it's at what I want it to be.

DEFAULT

Overclock

My issue is that my settings will not be used if I shutdown my PC and start it up later, it will be using the default settings.
If I restart my pc afterwards, or just restart, it uses my overclocked settings. Any ideas on how I can shutdown my pc and start it up with it using my overclock settings without having to enter my bios every startup?


EDIT: I did try saving my CMOS to my BIOS but that didn't solve my problem

I also tried changing my power settings but this doesn't solve my issue either.

What version Bios are you on? Not retaining settings after a shutdown seems to me to be a Bios bug.
Have you checked Gigabyte forum for related issue?

I looked into that already and anything would be a downgrade from that point

The only other reason a Bios does not retain settings is a failing CMOS battery and well worth replacing after 3 years at $4. Your GA-990FX UD3 1.1 is well past that.

I'll look into that

But just in case, does anyone know of any other possible solutions. I feel as though the battery is fine but I'll test regardless

I can confirm that the battery is not the issue.

I feel as though when I shutdown my pc, then start it, the settings are default yes, but the actual bios settings are showing it's over clocked.

Task manager says 4.75 but CPU-Z says 3.8

When I restart my PC, it says it's at 4.75 on both

If I shutdown my pc, start it up and skip going into my BIOS, it will be at 3.8 on CPU-Z but on task manager it will be 4.8
