Overclock with ASUS B85M-Gamer + Intel G3258

Solution
The only exception is B85 gaming series from MSI. I have a B85I Gaming and used a 4690K, 4770K, now runinng a 4790K, the board overclocks without any issue.
That was posted in 2014 . You cannot overclock the Pentium G3258 on this board without bios mods . Intel released an update creating it possible to only overclock he G3258 on Z97/Z87 Anniversary boards . However I would suggest a new cooler rather the stock one , unless noise isn't an issue .

Did you read about this? https://www.asus.com/sg/News/0yYwfwL2ZA9CFAMK Early they announce it.

Solution
I know this thread is kinda solved, but I just figured out that the MSI B85i Gaming looks equally as the MSI Z87i Gaming.
Difference is the number of USB 3.0 and Sata 6 ports, and the pre-installed Wi-fi card on the Z87i board and some extra features (RAID, smart response).

Check out the layouts.

I think I am correct stating that if you buy a B85i gaming board, you technically get a Z87i board, at least from overclocking perspective (6 phase VRM with heatsinks, etc.)

Please correct me if I am wrong.
