Hi

Im currently overclocking a 4770k on a Asus VII hero motherboard. Im cooling the cpu with a H110 from Corsair. I set the clockspeed to 4.2 MHz. It is very stable at 60 degrees C. I have set the cpu voltage at "auto" in the bios. The motherboard seem to increase the voltage the more i turn up the clock speed. At 4.2 GHz Aida 64 tells me the cpu is using 1.284 volt avg. Peaking at 1.304

I think the voltage is a bit high for 4.2 GHz, but im not a very expirianced overclocker. Should i manually turn down the voltage ?

Solution
Auto voltages are usually a little high.

I would start by seeing how high you can get on stock voltage first. Then start bumping it a little at a time from there.
