Overclocked Athlon X4 860k bottleneck 2 r9 270Xs?

Hi

I was just wondering if the Athlon X4 860k would bottleneck 2x R9 270Xs? And if so, will these new Excavator/ new AMD Athlon CPUs be better?

yes. but dont know why you would get 2 270x's in the first place. just buy a faster single gpu.
Do you own any of these components already? what psu do you have, because you need a reasonably powerful 600w psu to run 2 of those cards.

Yes the athlon will cause a bottleneck, but I do agree why get 2 270x's when with the same budget you could easily get a 290/290x or a gtx 970 with a bit more money (tho I would definitely recommend something like the fx 8320 for gpu's like these)
Crossfire gpus have so many issues in comparison to a single gpu with similar performance that its not worth the high-end price tag just to say you're running crossfire. Plus games are starting to phase out 2GB gpu's so it's honestly not worth putting your well earned pennies into a 2GB crossfire set-up in the first place. Go for a 3GB card or (r9 280 or better) more for the best performance in upcoming games

The x4 860k will handle any single card well up to the r9 280/280x, above that the CPU will limit the GPU performance on most games.
