hi

some fine overclockings of AMD Athlon XP processors.

<A HREF="http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/AthlonXP" target="_new">http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/AthlonXP</A>

Take notice of the top scores where SSE and L2 drop off. I hate when that happens =)

Good database tho

You are limited to what your mind can perceive.

there are also some 64K L1 cache.
thus there are some thunderbird and duron among the xp cpus.
well, maybe 3 or 4 cpus on 30 or 40 tested cpus.
where is the matter? the global overclocking database stays available, no?

lol, fugger, you don't lose the SSE and L2 cache when you overclock. Some were Athlons and Durons; not all were Athlon XPs.

 <b><i>"A penny saved is a penny earned!"</i></b>

yeah. nevertheless maybe some among support their oc'ing more than 5 minutes.

Well the ones that say they are AXPs also have 64KB of L2 cache. Also some of the AXPs do seem to have lost SSE support....

My firewall tastes like burning. 😱

Thanks chuck for pointing that out to them.

The L2 dropping out has been a problem with >2100Mhz Tbird and worse on Tbred. SSE also drops out. I didnt know they made a XP with 64k cache and no SSE...

Many of the page 1 scores use LN2, like cakecake stated they cannot run for extended period of time.

Interesting. It seems to me like an L2 cache corruption issue. Turning on ECC for the L2 cache should fix the problem but it might be up to 5% slower than L2 without ECC.

Bite ME.

We were merely making statements about how some AXPs seemed to have lost some features.

16 high overclocked xp cpus against 8 non-xp. i win.

Bite ME. LoL

Thanks again chuck.

This problem has been known for a little while when scores were questioned on that database and more were popping up, the posters themselves even state possible causes on their respective forums about this current problem.

You are limited to what your mind can perceive.

LoL.

everything you could say is ASSUMPTION and moreover it seems to be necessary others give you some rescue.

if you would like convincing, maybee bring here some more efficient arguing?

 i like toasted cpus but not AMD-inside.

Actually I found plenty more, it's just I have a life other than arguing against people like you. I never said they actually lost their SSE and L2 cache, merely it seemed that way and we'd look into it. Even AMD_Man agreed that it was strange. Why won't you?

LoL. you forgot only the topic of this thread.

yes, maybe it is strange, maybe not, i really don't know.

i have just pointed out with this xp overclocking database that a good even high overclocking seems possible based on those 16 real xp palomino cpus overclocked.

note: moreover i didn't extracted all the oc'ed cpus from this database. i have not the life to as well. if you would like to go further i suggest you to look at all of them by yourself.

 i like toasted cpus but not AMD-inside.

I know that there are more successful overclocks of XP cores; if that were not the case, it would be quite scary to try and o/c them. All we're saying is that this does happen in extreme overclocks and it should be something we should watch out for.

My firewall tastes like burning. 😱

i am perfectly agreed on this point. 🙂

 i like toasted cpus but not AMD-inside.

note: i don't think XP processors lost nor their SSE nor their L2 cache because of their extreme overclocking but few people entered their Duron and Thunderbird processors on the database as Palomino.

 i like toasted cpus but not AMD-inside.

Ah I see. That would clear some things up, but still not the 64K of L2 cache, unless the CPUID program made a mistake.

My firewall tastes like burning. 😱

why? duron haven't 64K L1 and 64K L2 cache?
