I'm planning to upgrade my current build (listed below) for the next generation of games being released. I'd like to know if a Core i5 4690 overclocked to 4.2GHz paired with a Sapphire RX 480 (4GB) will support the new gaming titles (Battlefield1, Forza3, SGW3, etc.) at Ultra / Highest Settings with a 900p resolution.

Current Build

  • CPU: G3258 Overclocked to 4.3GHz
    GPU: Sapphire R7 260x
    Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 ATX

Solution
Yes the i5 4690k is still a top tier cpu, which means it should last some more years. the rx480 is considered a good buy for 1080p so at 900p it should have no issues. It's a good combo and you will be happy with it. It should be able to play all games at ultra at 900p. :)

What powersupply do you have?
