Overclocked CPU, now catalyst has 4870x2 at 266%?!

Hi all;

I just overclocked by e8500 to 3.8 ghz. No problem there.

Now when I look in Catalyst, I see my 4870x2 with a GPU activity of 266% and a GPU temp of 85C.

Any suggestions?

Details:

mobo: Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4
Processor: e8500
Video card: ATI Radeon HD 4870X2
OS: Vista Ultimate 64

Ok, it's definately something to do with overclocking on this mobo. I had to reset the BIOS, uninstall Catalyst and all drivers and re-install to get the card to idle at a normal temp (64C).
I tried every variation in the bios I could think of, including locking the PCI-Express at 100hz. Nothing worked. If I OC the FSB, the ATI drivers / Catalyst / I don know are reacting by maxing the card out at idle. Frustrating.

If any of you have any thoughts about what to try, please post here and let me know.

You need to install expertools or some software with fan control for ati cards (i use expertool for 4870x2) then put it in fixed speed about 50-60 and you will get temps 40 - 50 c .
