Overclocked CPU, now having problems (used OC Genie).

Hi,

So I used OC genie to OC my CPU and ever since my computer now occasionally freezes and the monitor turns black. What happens sometimes is that my cursor freezes and won't move, but still remains visible. Other times the cursor becomes invisible and can't be moved (I assume because I try clicking on things and nothing processes).

Sometimes when this happens my cursor also turns a kind of flickering (it doesn't actually flicker, but is like a messed up yellow color) yellowish and red color and gets stuck on the cursor icon that appears when you're highlighting stuff (the I shaped thing). What eventually happens is that my monitor goes black and then says "No signal detected". However this has only happened when I try to open Speedfan to check the CPU temps while this whole freezing thing is going on. Or else it seems like the freezing thing can start and stop for a very long time. I've pressed the OC Genie button again, and my CPU is back at the stock 3.3ghz, but this still happens.

Things that are different with my system since this started, in order:

Installed Origin, BF4, CPU-Z.
I updated GPU drivers.
Overclocked CPU with OC Genie.
Created a custom automatic fan profile in MSI Afterburner. Upped my case fan speeds to 80% from 60%.
Uninstalled Spybot and Tea Timer. Uninstalled DS TOOL (software that lets you use a PS3 controller on your PC).

However this all started happening after the OC. These other things were done earlier. Temps are all good, and were even good with the OC on the CPU.

So far it's only happened after my computer has been on for a couple of hours. It hasn't happened in a game.

My specs:

i5 2500k
GTX 560 ti
MSI P67 - GD65
4 gigs ram 1600 mhz

Thanks. I'm just really puzzled.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering and why I try to check my temps with Speedfan while this goes on (but when I do this, Speedfan doesn't completely load, it says it's not responding, and my monitor shows no signal detected. The computer is still on though.) If I just let the freezing take place without trying to start any programs (like Speedfan), the freezing eventually stops, but then comes back in a few seconds, or a minute or so.

But it hasn't happened in game though, where the temps are higher.

The PSU is 2 years old. The whole desktop was just built in 2011.

Will that help me troubleshoot it? My CPU is currently back to its stock speed and has not acted up in BF4. Only while browsing the internet. I'm just trying to get my computer not to crash while not OC'd.

I have a Hyper 212. I have increased my GPU fan speed's automatic profile. It's at 80% for 70 and 80 degrees. 70% for 50 degrees. 60% for 40 degrees. It was on the default automatic profile before.

Temperatures are good.

well then, keep the gpu fan speed at 60% and try doing a clean windows installation(f u can). Is ur Disk full? mouse's arrow freezes when disk is kinda full.Try to run BF4 by setting the gpu fan speed at 60% and with O.C'ing the cpu .
