Ok, I am debating between these 3 CPUs.

Microcenter sell them for cheap so money isnt really too much of a factor, but if i get the fx i can get a nice cpu cooler.

Okay time to get to the point

if I were to OC a FX-8320 to 4.2-4.5 ghz per say. Would that have equivalent performance to a stock i5 3750/4670 in gaming?

Oh and for a mobo, my max budget would be around $120 with the AMD, and $100 with the Intel.

Looks good. I'd go for a bigger PS if you want some headroom for a video card upgrade in the future. Removing the PS is a PITA, you're basically completely rebuilding.

Probably so, I'd still leave headroom if you want to go higher than the 280x which in reality isn't a huge upgrade over the 7850.

Also, and sorry to say bud, but you just caught the builder bug which leads to more frequent upgrades than is fiscally logical but certainly fun. You may be in a position in the not too distant future where you're eyeing a CPU and video card upgrade, no reason to need to do the PS too because you went 100 or 200w short. The only reason I'm harping on this point is because I've been there.

of course i've "caught the builder bug" i have never built something of this scale so i thought this would be fun and would help my computer. But i would say its logical to get rid of an APU when im not even using the iGPU

No home user really needs one, but its the most appreciable difference in performance upgrade you can make to a pc. I'm hooked, all of my PCs, HTPCs, and Laptops now rock at lest one SSD. My main rig 1 SSD OS, 1 SSD Games, and a couple platters for media.

I own that board. 4.5 shouldn't be an issue with the 212. If you get a hot chip which can happen with either brand just grab a closed loop down the line and you should be able to push it further than 4.5. Or another option is add a fan and go push pull on the 212 for a few extra bucks.
