Doesn't matter. Download a stress test program like IntelBurnTest or Prime95 (Small FFTs) to see how high they go, as well as to test your overclock's stability, which I am assuming you did not do.

i might do that when i get chance but i bought it of a company that builds gaming pc's
and how long will i have to run the program for

temps are indicators when under load and obviously when the pc doesnt shutdown due to an overclock failure stress test will get ur answer and i think around 60c under load is max or something not quite sure lol

What are you using to monitor your temps? Also, are you sure you are giving the core reading and not the socket temp? The FX line displays temps oddly in most software.

That aside, max temp on cores is 62c, and around 75-80c socket (AMD does state 70c). If you are going as high as 73c on cores that is bad.

So under 100% load you are only hitting 45c on cores? Seems abit low for Prime95 small ffts. Download HWinfo64 (or any other temp monitoring software, realtemp, hwmonitor) to match the temperature readings with your program.

As stated above Core temp should never exceed 62C and socket temp should never exceed 70C.

There may be some variance by programs...the sensors have been weird in a lot of the boards. However, if you stay under 60C under heavy load and your overclock is stable...then you're good. H80i should be plenty of cooler for your system.

One thing that will help you though, is to make sure you have as many case fans as you can get in your case. This will ensure that the warm air is properly exhausted and doesn't keep your parts as hot. If you do not have many case fans, you can do that yourself, and rather cheaply too. They usually run between $10-20 each for good fans (depending if you want LEDs in them or not), and they install pretty easily in most cases.
