Overclocked i7 8700k + 1080 ti water cooling custom loop.

I just bough the Tower 900 case, and want to add a dual loop for cooling the CPU and grafic card, my psu is 650. I was thinking in 2 d5 pumps and 8 fans just for the radiators.
Do I need to upgrade the psu also? Thanks in advance.

Ps the case has 3 fans also.

You don't necessarily need dual loops to run that setup, it could just be a single loop. Also depends on what radiator(s) being used also.

You don't need to upgrade your PSU, watercooling pumps only draw like 20-25 watts. Unless you're already butting up against the limits of the power supply, you should be fine.

Seems like everyone that buys that case is enamored by the 'dual loop' option but really do not need to unless you're running 2 or 3 GPUs, otherwise you're just buying extra watercooling gear to fill the voids inside the chassis.

Just wanted to push the temps for both CPU and you to the lower possible. Both rads will be 560 just trying to decide between 40mm or 60mm tickness.

You can never reach ambient air temperature and there is a point of diminishing returns for radiators. A single 560 is more than enough to cool an overclocked 8700k and 1080Ti, let alone one each for a loop. I would actually like to see thermal load comparisons using 1 single radiator for both components vs. dual loops and see how much difference there is...I would think minimal at best. Even less if one or both components are running at stock speeds.

It's your money, but instead of buying an extra 560 radiator, pump, fans and fittings, I would use the money for more/faster storage or system memory.

Or perhaps a 4k monitor.

I wanted to upgrade later with 2 more 1080ti. On storage I already have a samsung 970 pro nmve. I always make the mistake of investing and not thinking on the future, that's why I wanted to go with dual loop. So with 1 loop I do 2 gpu, and the other is going to be for CPU and motherboard.
That was the idea at least.
If I get stable room tempratures. That's already perfect for me.

Fair enough, that's a decent plan and I can't argue it. You might want to stick with something else on the GPU side until the new 1100 series arrives, but until we know an exact release date, it's a roll of the dice.

Make sure you come back and post pictures of the build once you're done. I have a couple friends who have that case and love it, but tell me its absolutely enormous. From my perspective, my next build is going to be a dual box rig, one for gaming, the other for distributed computing and server.

Yeah, I was waiting for the new grafic cards to come out, but until then I wanted to have the custom loops working. Do you have any recomendations? On parts like fittings and such? To be honest it's going to be my first custom loop. Thanks
