Hello,
I overclocked my Gtx 1070 for the first time and these are my results.

+240 core clock (+260 gives artefacts)
+400 memory clock (Planning to up this)

I hear people talking about getting "lucky" with +180 core clocks, while I'm here with +240.

Am I just lucky or is that normal? This is my first time overclocking ever.

This is my build, if it has anything to do with it.

i5-6600k
16 gb ddr4 corsair vengeance 2666 MHz
Gigabyte MB GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming
650 Watt Evga Supernova G2
NZXT s340 elite black/red
240 GB ssd
2 TB HDD

If that is stable after using benchmarks like 3DMark or Unigine Valley/Heaven. Then your GTX 1070 is an amazing overclocker. I could barely get a 100+ Mhz out of my GTX 1070 armor.

If you have 0 instability issues I would assume it is fine.

Just to be safe though, did you stress test it a few times? Unigen\3dMark\etc.

My EVGA after I added the extra thermal pads they sent me has an incredibly nice overclock as well.

What Mhz did you get to if you don't mind me asking? I haven't put any MSI cards through their paces except my 1060.

I could crank my 1070 to 1987-2025 range depending on temps with OC. But i just didnt bother keeping it. The gain was to little to be worth the extra heat.
