I have a P4 2.4B that is soon to be overclocked to 3Ghz and probably faster. I do not want to go to a water-cooled system and am wondering what would be a good heatsink/fan combo for my system and what kind of speeds that heatsink/fan could handle? Thanks for your help.

Your stock cooling should do the job I think, I'm not sure though however with the 2.4C before I got my SLK900U the stock heatsink got me to 3.4G

I hate Computers! My P4 2.4C won't go above 3840mhz. My Sapphire 9800pro core/mem speed won't go above 490/790. I really hate computers!

my friend just got the slk-900U with a 92mm sunon fan (not too noisy, cfm like 50) for that exact same setup and it cools unbelievably well, his idle temps were better than mine with my watercooling! (though i have a nb and gpu block as well)

Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu got my p4 2.6C to 3.25GHz and it keeps it at 50C at full load and about 35-37C at idle. It also produces only 25dB of noise at full speed. It is heavy though, and if you get it you have to be careful moving your pc around because the p4 bracket might snap. But the performance is superb.

SLK900U with 92mm Tornado is the best cooling on the market period. But speeduk seemed to want to ruin that for me so he used 2 smart case fan 2 which cools about 1-2C better than 1 92mm Tornado. The zalman heatsink has a major disadvantage, you're stuck with the fan you get.

To prove that I've currently overclocked my CPU from 2.4 to 3.5 I keep it at 3.5 instead of 3.9 is because I don't need to change the Vcore, case opened, 11 casefans cooling every single spot on the motherboard. SLK900U with 92mm Tornado, my CPU runs at idle of 25C and Load(Sandra 50 Loops) 38C temperature readings from MBM5.
