Overclocking 3930K question!

Hello guys im waiting for my new build to arrive and have question for you.First of all this is my build:
DAW Build:
case:Fractal Design Define R4
psu: Corsair HX650 Gold Efficiency
mobo: Asus P9x79
cpu: 3930k
cooler: Thermalright Archon SB-E X2
gpu: MSI GT-630 2GB
ram: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600Mhz cl9
ssd: Samsung 840 250gb
hdd: 2x WD Caviar Black 1tb
And my question is,Will overclock reduce the lifetime of cpu?I dont wanna overclock it high i think at 4Ghz is enough and i think the cooler is good enough to support it at 4Ghz.Im newbie and dont have overclock until now.I have read topics that vcore and the cpu temperature is the most important think about the lifetime of cpu,i want it to last as long possible for 5-6 yearsand to run stable.So if is any expert here plz give me settings of vcore and how much cpu temperature i must have to run it stable and what other think i must do for the overclock and as i said i dont wanna overclock it more than 4Ghz.

High temperatures and high voltages are what you want to avoid.
For 4 GHz you probably won't have to touch the voltage at all.

An overclock will only begin to effect the lifespan if you increase it's voltage and/or increase the clock so high that it runs at temps much higher than expected, which is usually directly related to increasing voltage.

If you want it to last 5-6 yrs, then I would suggest only overclocking as high as you can WITHOUT increasing voltage. I think it should get to 4.0ghz with out vcore increase , my 2500k reaches 4.2 without touching vcore.

But honestly I don't think you even need the overclock. That CPU is beast at stock settings already anyway.

ran defaut and use turbo 3.8 not too much different with 4ghz .. more safe and cool and long lifetime .. and yes maybe get aftermarket cooler will more good than use stock cooler.

I have aftermarket cooler the thermalright archon sb-e x2.So i can overclock as high i can without touching the vcore.And how much must be the temperatures knows anyone?

So my conclusion is that :
1. Overclock as High as possible without touching the vcore
2. Keep the temperatures below 70c
right?

- Overclock as High as possible without with touching not more than default 1.35v
- and the cores must below 70C according Intel but I would keep the temps below 66c fulload Prime95/IBT/OCCT

Becarefull your CPU is very expensive ! i love it

Will overclock reduce the lifetime of cpu? of course all overclock will reduce life time , but as long still recommned voltage and temperature it will same lifetime with default .. just enjoy don't worry be happy

4 Ghz will be no prob,but you should check out the height of the archon in your r4,its 170.2 mm tall and your case supports 170 mm cooler.
It will probably be ok but will rule out using a side intake fan,good luck with the build

Archon fits good i just will remove the side panels fans sound dampening material cause i think it have contact,but i have problem i cant make it work,i have give it to my friend and will take it but when he will fix it,is ram compatibility problem or bios update or vga problem,dont know yet,i will post again here when i will be ready for overclock.

You won't cause any noticeable degradation (with a C2 stepping 3930K) so long as you keep your voltages below ~1.4v for 24/7 use and ~1.45-1.525v for short benching runs. I am running my 3930K (C2) @ 1.335v to get 5008.2Mhz (106.4 x 47).
Also, keep VTT1 and VCCSA both at or below 1.2000v, keep both of them within ~0.2v of one another as well as keeping them no more than 0.6v different from RAM voltage (0.5v ideally). Lastly, keep your vCORE and VTT/VCCSA within 0.2-0.3v of each other.

That will give you stability, and headroom.
