Hello all,
I'm new to overclocking and just recently learned about the front side bus ratio to ram frequency. I want a more stable and efficient system. My current fsb to dram ratio is 1:7.

Brief summary of hardware
crucial balistics tatical ram 1866hz ram 2 4gb sticks and 2 (4gb sticks of another color).
motherboard Asus z97 pro ac-Wifi updated to the system bios to 1304 build.
processor is i7 4790K.

Operating System
windows 8.1 64bit

My goal is to learn how to set the dram frequency to make a 1:1 ration with the fsb. I want to make my system more efficient, faster, and stable. I know little to any about overclocking so please keep thath in mind.
Thank you,

Cambolicious

So if I understand you correctly, you're saying to down clock the ram Verus over clocking the fsb? Is this because if I were to over clock the fsb it would mess up everything else on the board?

And so then is anything being bottle necked with that configuration?
