Hi Guys,

Having a play around with the new cpu and motherboard. Trying to get some overclocks. I can't be for certain If I have overclocked it successfully or not. I have synced all cores and put in 50 for the multiplier. Save settings. restart. Load back into bios but in the top left hand corner it says 3.7ghz which is its base clock. However where I manually punched in 50 before it still reads that. When I load Windows. One monitoring program says I'm still at 3.7ghz underload. However real temp says 5ghz. When playing games with msi's afterburner its telling me I got 5. I changed it to 49 in bios and those two programs showed 4.9. It feels misleading or am I retarded ? Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

Yes, that is good. You have implemented speedstep.
That reduces the multiplier and vcore when the processor has little to do.
Ok so when its in idle just in desktop. CPUZ is telling me that the core clock is cycling up and down fast between 800hz to 2000hz to 5000hz. etc. Just all over and when under load it hits 5000hz. which is what I was after. Should it be cycling like crazy like that under idle?
